Culpeo reopens the road to Vista Montana

Culpeo has secured access to Vista Montana and is about to drill just 1km from a discovery that previously returned 454m @ 0.96% CuEq, and the market has noticed...

Culpeo Minerals (ASX:CPO) has secured access to Vista Montana in Chile, clearing the way for a maiden four-hole, 2,000m diamond drilling program expected to start within the next two weeks.

The reason for the excitement is location.

Vista Montana sits roughly 1km northeast of the Lana Corina discovery, where previous drilling returned 454m @ 0.96% CuEq from 90m, along with several other broad copper-molybdenum intersections.

The next test along the corridor

Culpeo believes Vista Montana sits on the same north-northeast trending mineralised corridor as Lana Corina.

Mapping, magnetics, soil geochemistry and rock-chip sampling have already identified copper-gold mineralised veins, breccias and phyllic alteration at surface.

The first 2,000m program is designed to test whether that surface expression continues at depth.

Straight from one rig to the next

Drilling is currently finishing at El Quillay South.

Once that hole is complete, the rig will move directly to Vista Montana.

An IP survey at Lana Corina is also due to begin shortly, adding another layer of targeting data across the wider system.

Non-Executive Chair Geoff McNamara said the program could materially expand the Lana Corina discovery if Vista Montana proves to be part of the same mineralised corridor.

What’s next

Complete El Quillay South. Move the rig. Drill Vista Montana.

Culpeo already has a big copper hit next door, now it gets to find out whether the system keeps going.
