Evergold adds another gold zone to the Duchess of York story

Evergold has found a new shallow gold zone 600m northwest of Duchess of York, just weeks before resource-definition drilling begins...

Evergold Minerals (ASX:EG1) has identified a new shallow gold zone around 600m northwest of the main Duchess of York mineralisation at Mt Monger.

The new zone, named Vanguard, was defined by three adjacent aircore holes returning broad gold mineralisation, including 19m at 0.86g/t from 28m and 9m at 1.01g/t from 24m.

That matters because Vanguard is not sitting in isolation.

A bigger footprint

The new aircore hits sit immediately west of historical RC drilling that also intersected gold at depth.

Together, the drilling outlines an interpreted mineralised footprint of around 250m west to east, with the anomaly also extending about 250m north-northeast and remaining open.

The geology is also familiar.

Vanguard shows the same stockwork quartz veining, porphyry-sediment contact and sulphide association seen at Duchess of York, supporting Evergold’s view that both zones may be part of the same mineralised system.

Right before the resource drillout

The timing is useful.

Evergold is due to start RC resource-definition drilling at Duchess of York in October, and Vanguard has now been added to that program.

That means the next drilling round will not just tighten up the main zone.

It will also test whether Vanguard can add width, continuity and scale to the broader resource story.

Maiden resource still in sight

Evergold is targeting a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate for Duchess of York in early 2027, subject to drilling results.

The aircore work has now given that process another target to include.

With regional assays still to come from Gladiator, Crusader, Paladin and Hickman’s Find, there is more newsflow building around Mt Monger.

What comes next

October drilling will test the geometry, grade distribution and continuity of both Duchess of York and Vanguard.

The simple question is whether Vanguard becomes a useful extension or something much bigger.

Either way, Evergold has just added another piece to the resource puzzle before the main drillout begins.
