Kaoko’s Chalkos has the copper, now it has the firepower

Kaoko Metals has turned one of the market’s hottest copper runs into a $20M institutional-led raise and a second drill rig for Chalkos.

Kaoko Metals (ASX:KAO) has followed one of the ASX’s biggest copper rallies with a $20M institutional-led placement designed to accelerate drilling at the Chalkos Copper-Silver Project.

The raise was priced at $2.20 per share, with strong support from new and existing long-only global institutions and sophisticated investors.

Together with existing cash, Kaoko expects to emerge with over $24M before offer costs.

That is a very different balance sheet to take into the next phase of exploration.

The second rig is coming

The biggest immediate change is drilling speed.

Kaoko plans to mobilise a second diamond rig to Chalkos and expand drilling across the priority Otniel and Donkey Hill prospects.

That matters because the company’s first two holes at Otniel delivered the broad visible copper intervals that triggered the recent market re-rating.

Now Kaoko has the capital to test continuity, scale and multiple targets without relying on one rig to do all the work.

Otniel is only part of the plan

The funding is not going into one prospect alone.

Kaoko will also expand mapping, geochemical sampling and geophysics across the broader ~400km² Chalkos licence area.

The aim is straightforward. Generate more drill targets and test whether the mineralised system extends well beyond the early Otniel focus.

Donkey Hill is also set for an expanded drilling push.

If Chalkos is genuinely district-scale, this is where the next phase starts to prove it.

Karibib gets funded too

The raise also gives Kaoko room to advance the Karibib Gold-Copper-Tungsten Project.

Planned work includes geophysics over priority targets followed by drilling, subject to the results.

That gives the company two active exploration fronts rather than one.

What’s next

The next phase is all about speed.

A second rig is expected at Chalkos, drilling will expand at Otniel and Donkey Hill, regional geophysics and fieldwork will step up, and Karibib will move closer to drilling.

Kaoko has already delivered the market excitement, now it has $20 million to prove the story can get bigger.
