PhosCo’s KH discovery boosts Gasaat economics

PhosCo has hit thick phosphate in all five maiden holes at KH, but the postcode could matter just as much...

PhosCo (ASX:PHO) has hit thick, high-grade phosphate across every hole of its maiden drilling program at KH, just 3.5km from the proposed processing plant at its Gasaat Project in Tunisia.

That combination of grade, low strip potential and proximity could make KH particularly useful in the early years of a future operation.

Five holes. Five hits.

All five holes intersected broad phosphate mineralisation with internal higher-grade zones.

The standout was:

  • 19.4m @ 20.7% P₂O₅ from 81.6m, including 9m @ 24.2% P₂O₅

Other results included:

  • 18.8m @ 18.8% P₂O₅, including 8.3m @ 22.7%
  • 19.6m @ 17.2% P₂O₅, including 5.8m @ 22.8%
  • 16.3m @ 17.7% P₂O₅, including 5.3m @ 22.5%

The drilling also confirmed the continuity and tabular geometry indicated by historical work.

Why KH matters

KH is the northernmost prospect within the wholly owned Gasaat Project and sits close to the proposed plant.

PhosCo believes that proximity, combined with relatively shallow mineralisation and a potentially low strip ratio, could improve project economics, particularly during the early stages of production.

KH also sits alongside the existing KM and SAB resources, adding another potential feed source as the company builds out the wider Gasaat inventory.

Managing Director Taz Aldaoud said the results could add both scale and early economic value to Gasaat.

The drill keeps moving

The focus now shifts north.

Scout drilling is underway at Sekarna North before the rig returns to DOH for Phase 2 drilling, following the significant phosphate discovery announced there earlier this year.

At the same time, multiple technical workstreams are feeding into an updated Gasaat Scoping Study targeted for Q3 2026.

What’s next

For PhosCo, the story is becoming less about proving phosphate exists across Gasaat and more about assembling the pieces of a potential development.

KH adds another one, and it happens to sit right next to where the company wants to build the plant.
