Rincon goes hunting 10km from Telfer

The rig is turning again for Rincon Resources just 10km south of Telfer.

Rincon Resources (ASX:RCR) has started RC drilling at its 100%-owned Telfer South Gold-Copper Project, just 10km south of the Telfer Gold Mine.

The initial program totals around 3,500m across two targets, the 1.1km Hasties Zone and the nearby Frenchman’s prospect.

Hasties comes first

Around 2,000m across 20 holes is planned at Hasties, with drilling designed to extend mineralisation to the northwest and southeast around the Hasties Main and Hasties South-East deposits.

The company may add further holes as the program develops, with the clear aim of growing the resource footprint along the broader 1.1km corridor.

A Heritage Survey is also nearing completion, which could open up additional drill positions later this year.

Frenchman’s gets another shot

Around 700m north of Hasties, Rincon is planning eight holes for roughly 1,500m at Frenchman’s.

The target already has history behind it.

Previous drilling returned:

  • 5m @ 1.74g/t Au from 118m
  • 39m @ 0.2% Cu from 8m
  • 5m @ 1.12g/t Au and 0.65% Cu from 85m

Technical Director Michael Griffiths said the focus is straightforward. Grow Hasties, test Frenchman’s and keep drilling active through year-end.

What’s next

The first priority is expanding Hasties.

Then comes Frenchman’s.

And with targets such as Padion still sitting in the wider Telfer South portfolio, Rincon is clearly trying to turn one corridor into a much broader gold-copper story.
