Riversgold (ASX:RGL) has submitted its Native Vegetation Clearing Permit application for the Northern Zone Gold Project, moving the Kalgoorlie asset another step closer to development.
The permit is required before any land clearing can take place as part of future mining operations.
Another box ticked
The application follows the grant of the Northern Zone Mining Lease in July, which runs for 21 years to 2047.
Riversgold is now working in parallel on the Mine Development and Closure Proposal, which remains on track for submission in early September.
That is the more important operating approval on the road to mining.

Funding already lined up
Northern Zone is 80%-owned by Riversgold and 20%-owned by Oracle Power.
Development is set to be fully funded by Mega Resources under the existing 50/50 Mining and Co-operation Agreement, with mine planning and scheduling now being finalised.
Technical Director Ed Mead said the latest permit submission puts the company another step closer to monetising Northern Zone.
What’s next
Submit the MDCP. Finalise mine planning. Keep the approvals moving.
Riversgold already has the mining lease, now it is working through the final paperwork needed to turn Northern Zone into a mine.
