Synertec Corporation (ASX:SOP) has secured a $45.5M engineering services contract with an Australian Government agency, sending the company’s shares almost 20% higher.
The eight-year deal covers engineering design, documentation, construction support and commissioning, with most of the work expected to be delivered over the first 26 months.
That gives Synertec something small engineering companies rarely get in one hit, long-term revenue visibility.
$45.5M without a big capex bill
The contract will support a program of critical infrastructure works for the unnamed government agency.
Importantly, Synertec says the project will not require material project-related capital expenditure.
That means the value of the contract is less about spending heavily to chase revenue and more about deploying the engineering capability the company already has.
Most of the work comes early
While the contract runs across eight years, the majority of the work is expected within the first 26 months.
That could make the near-term revenue impact meaningful.
Synertec is now reviewing its FY27 guidance to assess how mobilisation, delivery schedules and revenue recognition will flow through the numbers.
That update is likely to be the next catalyst investors watch closely.
Government work gets bigger
The award also strengthens Synertec’s position in government and critical infrastructure engineering.
For a company looking to build scale, that matters.
A long-duration government contract can provide a more stable base for staffing, project planning and future tendering.
What’s next
Synertec will now mobilise the project and update the market on the impact to FY27 revenue guidance once the delivery profile is clearer.
The contract runs for eight years, the market only needed a day to react.
