Three more zones join the party at ADX’s HOCH-1

Three more zones have flowed gas at HOCH-1, and the deeper targets are still waiting...

ADX Energy (ASX:ADX) has confirmed gas flow from three additional zones at HOCH-1 in Upper Austria, with Zones 2, 3, 4 and 5 producing a commingled average of 3.15 MMCFPD, equivalent to 548 boepd, over 12 hours.

Importantly, all Phase 1 zones tested so far have produced water-free gas.

Phase 1 is stacking up

The latest result follows the earlier Zone 2 test, which averaged 2.7 MMCFPD and showed strong reservoir productivity.

Pressure analysis from that zone pointed to potential flow of 3.5 MMSCFPD and suggested the sand extends at least 600m from the wellbore.

The latest test adds more confidence that HOCH-1 is not relying on one isolated reservoir.

The deeper prize is still ahead

Post-drill seismic mapping suggests several Hall Channel sands may extend laterally for kilometres, including deeper Zones 6 to 8.

Those zones have not yet been tested.

ADX plans to test at least two of them during Phase 2 once a workover rig is available.

Executive Chairman Ian Tchacos said the Phase 1 results improve confidence in commercial reserves and in the potential of the deeper zones.

What’s next

The well is now shut in for pressure buildup analysis. After that comes Phase 2.

The shallow zones have already flowed, now ADX gets to test whether the deeper Hall Channel sands can add real scale.
